Important Reminders
- Cigna is moving to digital-only ID cards starting January 1, 2025. Learn how to access your digital ID card and see FAQs about this. If you’d prefer a physical ID card, you can request one at myCigna.com.
- You can continue using your current medical ID cards next year if are continuing with the same elections. If you changed an election for 2025, you will receive a new ID card(s). Everyone enrolled in UnitedHealthcare (UHC) will receive a new ID card(s) due to the change from UMR to UHC.
- If you added a dependent for the first time, you must submit verification documentation to confirm that the dependent is eligible for coverage. Documentation can include a marriage certificate, birth certificate or adoption papers, a copy of a court document/order that grants you legal custody and either legal conservatorship, or legal guardianship, and other documents to prove your dependent’s eligibility.
- If you need to provide Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for Voluntary Life Insurance, your coverage will not be effective until Unum approves your EOI. To confirm if you need to complete anything related to EOI, you can log into the Alera Group Benefits Center and check your dashboard for any EOI-related tasks.
- Set up your personalized account(s) through your carrier(s), if you haven’t already. After you set up your account, you can find plan details, access electronic ID cards, search for participating providers, and submit and manage your claims.
- Review and update your Alera Group 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan contributions and investments to make sure you’re on track to meet your retirement income goals. While you’re logged into your account, review and update your beneficiary designations, too.
- To review and update your beneficiary designations for other benefits, you can log into the Alera Group Benefits Center.
- Keep these 2025 benefits updates in mind:
- Our health plans are now provided by UnitedHealthcare (replacing the previous UMR/Accolade plans).
- Plan members may be able to access GLP-1 medications for weight loss by participating in ModifyHealth. ModifyHealth is a nutrition and wellbeing support program providing home-delivered, medically tailored meals while also offering dietitian support, remote patient monitoring, medication and education.
- The Enhanced DPPO plan now includes adult orthodontia at no added cost to your rates.
