If you need additional mental health care beyond what Spring Health provides, your Alera Group medical plan covers mental health services, including therapy. Check with your medical carrier for coverage details and provider networks.
If your loved one was covered under your benefits or you were covered under theirs, this may qualify as a life event. Contact Alera Group Benefits Center at 888-850-1765 for assistance updating your Alera Group benefits and to begin the life insurance claims process with Unum, if applicable.
Update your beneficiary information through the Alera Group Benefits Center and Principal (for the 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan), if needed.
If your loved one was an Alera Group colleague, there are important benefits and resources available to help you navigate their passing.
You have access to Spring Health at no cost through the end of the month that the loss occurs. Eligible dependents of the colleague who has passed can speak with a therapist and access digital resources for help coping.
As soon possible, please contact the Alera Group Benefits Center to notify them of your loss and to begin the life insurance claims process with Unum.
You should also contact Principal (for the 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan) if the colleague was enrolled.
If you are covered under the colleague’s Alera Group benefits, your coverage will end on the last day of the month in which the loss occurs. You may have the option of continuing certain coverage through COBRA .
