One of your first steps is to choose your benefits. To have coverage, you must enroll in your benefits within 30 days of your hire date. This includes medical, dental, vision, and any other benefits you want to elect.
To make your elections, log in to the Alera Group Benefits Center. You’ll need to register for an account. The benefit you choose will start on the first of the month after your hire date, unless otherwise noted.
Important: If you don’t enroll within 30 days, you’ll only receive company-paid benefits, like Basic Life Insurance and Disability coverage, until the next Open Enrollment or a qualifying life event (like getting married or welcoming a child).
You’ll be automatically enrolled in the Alera Group 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan 30 days after your eligibility date at a 3% deferral rate. You can adjust your deferral rate at any time through Principal, but if you do not change it, there will be an automatic 1% increase each year on your deferral.
To maximize your savings, Alera Group matches 100% of the first 1% of your contributions and 50% of the next 5%. That’s a 3.5% match when you contribute at least 6%.
