Your benefits fully recognize same-sex spouses and domestic partners. This means you can:
You’ll make these elections through the Alera Group Benefits Center. To enroll your domestic partner, you must submit a completed and notarized Domestic Partner Affidavit confirming your domestic partner qualifies as a dependent.
Please note: Alera Group’s contribution toward the cost of coverage for your domestic partner and their dependents is considered taxable income to you. Domestic partner premiums will be deducted on a post-tax basis. You may wish to consult with a tax advisor for more information.
Inclusion and diversity are core to who we are, and we’re committed to building a culture where everyone can thrive. Our Inclusion & Diversity principles and programs focus on fostering a culture of respect and belonging that values the uniqueness of the individual in order to grow, innovate and strategically advance Alera Group.
If you and your spouse/domestic partner are enrolled in an Alera Group medical plan (UHC, BCBS, or Surest), you have access to Included Health, which can help you find LGBTQ+ affirming providers who understand your unique needs.
Alera Group medical plans cover standard care for gender dysphoria (hormone therapy, psychological services, chest surgery (FtM), and gender reassignment surgery for adults).
All colleagues and their dependents can access free, confidential mental health support through Spring Health. You can find therapists and coaches who specialize in topics related to gender and sexual identity including coming out socially and at work, family planning and support, attorney consultation for legal forms, and parenting and/or relationship challenges. You and your eligible dependents can each access up to 12 therapy (ages 6+) and 12 coaching (ages 13+) sessions per year at no cost to you.
